The location was easily accessible by bus from the railway station. I don't drive, so I use public transport. There was a Tesco convenience store five minutes walk away. The area is a small estate of 150 year old listed buildings in good repair and quite impressive. There is a private garden area behind the row of houses, and the Leas cliff top walking area is beyond the garden. It was quiet at night - no noisy traffic or noise from people leaving pubs. The breakfast was mainly cold - cereals, yoghurt, cold meats, but I was easily able to obtain porridge every morning from the very pleasant kitchen staff. I had a "comfort" room, which was more expensive than the "budget" rooms. A double bed with duvet, a very adequate pine chest of drawers, touch sensitive bedside lamps and a very nice shower room with a large shower space. two shower heads. and plenty of room. The bathroom fittings were modern and immaculately clean. The hotel provided a bath sheet, very fluffy and thick, which I liked.

The hotel is located in one of the older "posher" areas of Folkestone - very large houses now mostly converted to flats. It is handy for buses and about a half mile from the railway station. The rear rooms overlook the Folkestone Leas from which it is a short walk down the cliff path to a park and the beach. The room I had was a nicely furnished double room with an ensuite shower room. Both rooms were a good size and the bathroom was very well fitted with a large walk in shower and plenty of drawers and a cupboard for your toiletries.

Missed the planned ferry, which led to a very late check in gone midnight. The young man who checked us was fantastic and could not do enough for us, regardless of the ungodly hour. A credit to the hotel. As it was dark, we did not realise the view from our room until we woke. Also fantastic and the location perfect.. We have definitely found our go to place to stay when travelling to UK to see family. Can’t recommend it enough.

From arriving at the Westward I was impressed with the service - specifically by Shae, who welcomed us. A wonderful blend of detail and the need to get settled quickly led to us being in the room with dinner planned in less than 10 minutes. Packed breakfasts for early morning departures took addressed yet another challenge having arrived late that evening. People make the difference. Shae is brilliant at his job.

The Westward Ho Hotel is an excellent place to stay in Folkstone and is located in a safe and quiet neighborhood at the seafront. The hotel offered us to check-in at a late hour since we had a long drive on the same day and everything worked very fluently and the hotel receptionist was very friendly & helpful.
